I love to learn, but more than that, I love to do. While I’ve spent the last decade in post-secondary education, I spent most of that time learning what it means to struggle to try to make the world a better place. These are some of the projects I’m working on to try to do that.

In 2019, I was part of a team that unionized more than 1500 workers at Simon Fraser University.
The first was a small scale unionization drive coordinated by myself, to unionize myself and ~20 colleagues working in the Student Learning Commons at SFU.
The second was the Research Is Work campaign, where we unionized more than 1500 Research Assistants at SFU.
As a fellow worker, core organizer, and team lead, these campaigns were incredibly difficult, stressful, but also one of the best things I’ve ever helped achieved.
I audio-recorded many of our meetings, the stories of grassroots organizers, and our victory rally. I’m working on an audio history of our ground-breaking campaign. I’m also heading up the communications team, and am a member of the committee that will be negotiating our first Contract.
